Coleta "Katie" J. Slough, age 96, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 10:20 am on Monday, December 4, 2023, at Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home in Jasonville. She was born in Indianapolis, IN on May 13, 1927, the daughter of John R. & Myrtle (Dove) Hunter.

She was a wonderful wife and mother who loved taking care of her home and family. She was a member of the Linton First United Methodist Church and Gideon's Auxiliary.

Katie is survived by her son, Rick (Nancy) Slough of Worthington; grandchildren, Jamie (Kenna) Slough, Mark Clements, Angie (Dennis) Schmidt, Heather (Frank) Lomis and Jamie (Lucy) Mobley; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Rozella Vandeventer and Bonnie Wood.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Max William Slough; daughter, Alberta Clements; brother, Floyd Hunter and sister, Dorma Sims.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Saturday, December 9, 2023 with Pastor Ben Biggs and Pastor Jack Shake officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Bethel Cemetery in Worthington.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Linton First United Methodist Church through the funeral home.
