Charlene M. Stremming
/Charlene M. Stremming, 76, of Sandborn, Indiana, went to Heaven, with loved ones by her side, on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. She was born on October 27, 1948 in Vincennes to Orvel L. and Virginia M. (Clifford) Stremming. Charlene divorced and changed her name back to her maiden name of Stremming.
Charlene was a member of the Parkview Christian Church in Plainville, Order of Eastern Star, Newberry Chapter #198 and the L&M Class of 1966. She retired in 1992 from the General Electric Plant in Linton with 17 years of service. Charlene liked to crochet and do embroidery. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and playing her accordion.
Family left to cherish the memories of Charlene include: two daughters, Iris (Danny) Overman of Freedom and Ilene Casner of Linton; five grandchildren, LeeAnna (Jordan) Harris, Lindsay (Jesse) Bobo, Daniel Casner, Katelin Norris and Dylan Cunningham; five great-grandchildren, Nichola Harris, Elizabeth Harris, Adrian Feutz, Anthony Britton and Gabriel Bobo; sister, Marlene Mattingly; nephew, Lee Stremming; niece, Ginny (Bill) Gayso; sister-in-law, Linda Stremming; great-nephews, Michael Stremming, Brayden Stremming, Eric Gayso and Blaine Gayso; great-great-niece, Effe Stremming.
Charlene was preceded in death by: her parents; one brother, Mearl E. Stremming and brother-in-law, Bob Mattingly.
Funeral services to honor the life of Charlene will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Parkview Christian Church in Plainville with Jason Shemanski officiating. Charlene will be laid to rest in Stafford Cemetery in Sandborn.
Family and friends may call from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton. An Eastern Star Memorial Service will at 7:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Visitation will also be at the church on Saturday, May 31 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church.
