Alice Faye Maesch

Alice Faye Maesch, 53, of Solsberry, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026, surrounded by family at Redcrest Hospice House in Bloomington. Born in Bloomington on January 23, 1973, to Floyd and Ruby (Terrell) Michael, Alice lived a life defined by love, laughter, and an unwavering kindness to all who crossed her path.

A 1991 graduate of Eastern Greene High School, Alice later married her high school sweetheart and best friend, William “Bill” Maesch, on February 29, 1992 - a leap year wedding. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, humor, and unconditional love, raising two children, Dawn and Nicholas, who were the greatest joys of her life.

Alice worked for many years at KeHE Natural Food Distribution in Ellettsville, where she was known for her hard work, contagious optimism, and her ability to turn coworkers into lifelong friends. Beyond work, she loved traveling with friends, finding a bit of luck at casinos, and spending quiet moments surrounded by nature and animals. Her compassion for all creatures great and small was unmatched.

Alice’s warmth lives on through her husband of nearly 34 years, Bill Maesch; her mother, Ruby Michael; her children, Dawn Maesch and Nicholas Maesch; her brothers, Gordon and Larry Michael; her sisters, Vonda May and Sherryll Drew; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Michael; her brother, Marvin Michael; her sisters, Paula Goetz and Paulette Calloway; and her grandparents, Glen and Maude Terrell.

A funeral service celebrating Alice’s life will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 11:00 AM at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer, of Walton Funeral Service, with Pastor Larry Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Newark Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM, and again on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

In keeping with Alice’s lifelong love for animals, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Bloomington Animal Shelter or the Exotic Feline Rescue Center, through the funeral home.
