New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025:

Aug. 13, 2:49 p.m., Michael Eugene Lawson, 34, Gary, was arrested on a warrant for criminal mischief. His bond was set at $5,000 surety with 10% cash allowed. 

Aug. 13, 9:21 p.m., Emma May Denny, 36, Lyons, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana. No bond was allowed.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
