New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024:

Jan. 3:48 PM, Harley Joe Shields, 31, Linton, was arrested on a warrant for battery resulting in bodily injury. His bond was set at $5,000 surety with 10% cash allowed. He was released after posting $500. Linton Police Department Officer Jerrad Pirtle was the arresting officer.

Jan.3, 10:53 PM, Vera Nichole Richardson, 28, Linton, was arrested on a preliminary charge of residential entry. Her bond was set at $4,000 surety with 10% cash allowed. She was released after posting $400. Worthington Police Department Officer Caleb Ray was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
