New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday, March 1, 2023:

February 27, 2023, 11:07 PM, Jason R. Nichols, 47, Solsberry, was arrested on new preliminary charges of felony habitual traffic violator with a lifetime suspension and misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance. He was being held without bond. Greene County Sheriff's Deputy Michael Coy was the arresting officer. (This entry appeared on yesterday's jail log but without a mug shot.)

February 28, 2023, 10:40 AM, Bobbi Jo Staggs, 33, was booked in for an unknown reason (at time of posting) in a case involving felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine and possession of a syringe and misdemeanor theft. She was being held without bond. Greene County Courthouse Security Officer Patrick Fulford was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
