New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday, February 28, 2023:

February 27, 2023, 2:41 PM, Jordan Matthew Sharp, 35, Linton, Indiana, was arrested on a new preliminary charge of misdemeanor domestic battery. His bond was set at $1000 surety with 10% cash allowed. Linton Police Lieutenant Bobby Pierce was the arresting officer.

February 27, 2023, 11:07 PM, Jason R. Nichols, 47, Solsberry, was arrested on new preliminary charges of felony habitual traffic violator with a lifetime suspension and misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance. He was being held without bond. Greene County Sheriff's Deputy Michael Coy was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
