New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday, April 5, 2022:

April 4, 2022, 3:26 PM—Nathaniel Gregory Johnson, 25, Indianapolis, was arrested on a warrant issued on a petition to revoke a suspended sentence for a conviction of misdemeanor operating a vehicle while intoxicated with endangerment. He was being held without bond.

April 4, 2022, 6:52 PM—Bryce Edward Benefiel, 42, Terre Haute, was arrested on new preliminary charges of felony intimidation and misdemeanor resisting law enforcement and domestic battery. His bond was set at $1000 surety with 10% cash allowed. He posted $100 and was released later the same day. Linton Police Officer Alan Jackson was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
