New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday, October 19, 2021:

October 18, 7:31 p.m. – Gerald Lee Phillips, Jr., 49, Jasonville, Ind., was arrested on a new preliminary charge of misdemeanor invasion of privacy. He was being held without bond. Linton Police Officer Cayden Walker was the arresting officer.

October 19, 2:42 a.m. – Clayton Duane Langley, 30, Linton, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued on a petition to revoke a suspended sentence for a conviction of felony domestic battery in the presence of a child less than 16 years old. He was being held without bond. Linton Police Officer Zachary Goad was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
