New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday, October 14, 2021:

October 13, 8:06 p.m. – James Gregory Peters, 34, Switz City, Ind., was arrested on new preliminary charges of felony strangulation, domestic battery and residential entry, and misdemeanor criminal mischief. His bond was set at $12,500 surety with ten percent cash allowed. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Kelly Hutchens was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
