New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday, July 29, 2020:

July 28, 2:58 p.m. – Lucas Skutt, 46, Springville, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued on preliminary charges of felony operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death, and misdemeanor operating a vehicle while intoxicated with endangerment, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to .15 or more. His bond was set at $17,500 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He posted $1,750 and was released later the same day. Greene County Sheriff’s Det. David Elmore was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
