New arrests on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department:

  • April 12 – Mackshane P. Budd, 40, Sandborn, Ind., was arrested on a preliminary charge of felony criminal recklessness. His bond was set at $4,000 surety with ten percent allowed. He was released later the same day after posting bond. Bloomfield Town Marshal Ken Tharp was the arresting officer.
  • April 12 – Joseph Thomas Langley, 23, Clay City, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued on a preliminary charge of felony impersonating a public servant/law enforcement officer. His bond was set at $4,000 surety with ten percent allowed. He was released later the same day after posting bond. Greene County Jail Officer Darren McDonald was the arresting officer.
  • April 12 – Paul E. Gibson, 51, Jasonville, Ind., was arrested on a preliminary charge of misdemeanor pointing a firearm at another person. His bond was set at $1,000 surety with ten percent allowed. He was released later the same day after posting bond. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy David Elmore was the arresting officer.
  • April 12 – Cazee Logyn Layne, 19, Jasonville, Ind., was arrested on a preliminary charge of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor battery. He was being held without bond. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy David Elmore was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
