Greene County Jail Log

New arrests on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department:

  • March 9 – Jonathan Lee Towell, 32, Worthington, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued on a petition to revoke a suspended sentence in a case involving felony possession or sale of precursors. He was being held without bond. Indiana State Police Trooper Eric Nash was the arresting officer.
  • March 9 – Nathan Matney, 28, Linton, Ind., was arrested on preliminary charges of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia. He was being held without bond. Worthington Deputy Marshal Russell Walls was the arresting officer.
  • March 9 – Levi Cody Snowden, 20, Linton, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued out of Sullivan County involving an alleged violation of home detention. He was being held without bond then transferred on March 10. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Anderson was the arresting officer.
  • March 10 – Benjamin Reed Reinhardt, 61, Spencer, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued on a preliminary charge of felony battery against a public safety official. He was being held on a bond set in another case involving felony intimidation of $10,000 cash only. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy David Elmore was the arresting officer.
  • March 11 – Jeffrey Allen Smith, Jr., 34, Linton, Ind., was arrested on preliminary charges of felony criminal recklessness, felony resisting law enforcement using a deadly weapon and misdemeanor operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license. His bond was set at $8,500 surety with ten percent allowed. Jasonville Police Sgt. Brian Pilant was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
