New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department:

  • October 17, 7:16 p.m. Ryan Jacob Major, 22, Worthington, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued on a preliminary charge of misdemeanor driving while suspended – second offense. His bond was set at $5,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. Worthington Deputy Marshal James Harrington was the arresting officer.

  • October 17, 11:23 p.m. – William Nick Hutcherson, Jr., 54, Bloomfield, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued on a preliminary charge of misdemeanor domestic battery. His bond was set at $5,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He was released later the same day after posting $500 cash. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Heather Wood was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
