/New arrests on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department:
- January 9 – Donald Richard Rollins, 47, Bloomfield, Ind., was arrested on preliminary charges of two counts of theft – one felony and one misdemeanor, two counts of battery – one felony and one misdemeanor, two counts of domestic battery – one felony and one misdemeanor, and one felony count of strangulation. His bond was set at $19,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. Worthington Deputy Marshal James Harrington was the arresting officer.
- January 9 – Jesse D. Kortea, 35, Bloomington, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued on preliminary charges of felony neglect of a dependent and misdemeanor compulsory school attendance violation. Bond was set at $13,500 surety with ten percent cash allowed. Indiana State Police Trooper Robert Whyte was the arresting officer.
- January 9 – Nicholaus Sean Dorgan, 18, Jasonville, Ind., was arrested on a preliminary charge of felony theft. His bond was set at $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. Jasonville Assistant Police Chief Ryan Van Horn was the arresting officer.
- January 10 – Jonathan Lee Towell, 31, Worthington, Ind., was arrested on preliminary charges of one felony count of battery with bodily injury to a law enforcement officer and four misdemeanor counts including refusal to aid a law enforcement officer, operating while intoxicated, disorderly conduct and resisting law enforcement. His bond was set at $14,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. Worthington Deputy Marshal James Harrington was the arresting officer.
Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
