The driver of a Ford Mustang is facing a criminal charge of reckless driving after he was stopped by a Worthington Police Department officer whose radar showed the Mustang was going 94 mph in a 50 mph zone.
WPD Officer Caleb Ray was running radar on State Road 157 on Friday, March 17, when he saw the blue Mustang pass three vehicles. It appeared to be going faster than the normal flow of other traffic. He activated his radar and reported it indicated the Mustang was traveling at a speed of 94 mph. A traffic stop was initiated on SR 157 and Baseline Road.
Tyler V. Albright, 23, Cloverdale, told the officer he had just got the car running and was trying to get to a friend's house. He was informed that he would be charged with reckless driving and would receive a summons in the mail.
The criminal case was filed against Albright this week and the court ordered a criminal summons be sent to him by signature confirmation mail commanding him to appear in Greene Superior Court on May 11 for his initial hearing on a charge of reckless driving, a Class C misdemeanor.
