Worthington Lions Club makes decision to not sponsor this year's yard sale event

The Worthington Lions Club, sponsors of the annual Around-The Town Yard Sale event over Labor Day Weekend in Worthington, announced today they made the decision to forego sponsoring the event this year.

The Lions Club’s announcement:

After much consideration and investigation of options, the Worthington Lions Club made the difficult decision to forego sponsoring the annual Town Yard Sales in 2020.

Indiana is in Stage 4.5 of reopening, with specific requirements for special community events drawing more than 250 people (which the Yard Sales clearly do). We investigated ways to support the event in a safe, responsible manner. Unfortunately, it’s not possible for the Club to meet the published standards and requirements for a safe and healthy event in Stage 4.5. Unfortunately, this means the Lions Club will not complete its normal support, which includes advertising in media, providing porta-potties around Town, compiling a map of locations, or serving our very popular breakfast.

We wish everyone a safe, healthy, and enjoyable Labor Day weekend. We pray that the conditions allow for us to have our Second Annual Christmas celebration this December, and the Club plans to make the 2021 Worthington Yard Sales even better.
