Sarah Nicole King, 36, Springville, was arrested by Deputy Camron Frye of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department early last Friday, May 22. King was booked into the Greene County Jail around 2:05 a.m.

After 9 p.m. last Thursday night, a witness reported a vehicle had run off the road and crashed. Deputy Frye was dispatched and found a dark blue and silver 2000 GMC Jimmy off the road at East State Road 54 and Raines Road, located east of Bloomfield, east of Ridgeport.

King was the driver and was still sitting in the driver’s seat with the vehicle running when Deputy Frye arrived on the scene.

Deputy Frye reported King staggered from the vehicle and exhibited numerous signs of intoxication including slurred speech, poor balance and disorderly clothing.

King failed all standard field sobriety tests and was transported. A nurse administered a chemical test at 10:35 p.m. – results showed she had a blood alcohol concentration of .213. The legal limit is .08.

King allegedly admitted she had been drinking and Deputy Frye said she was found to be in possession of controlled substances.

King is facing preliminary charges of:

  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor,

  • Operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to .15 or more, a Class A misdemeanor, and

  • Two counts of possession of a controlled substance, Class A misdemeanors.

She was being held without bond pending court appearance. Her initial hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. in the morning, Wednesday, May 27.
