Woman accused of misusing the 911 system
/A woman accused of misusing the 911 system is being summoned into court. She didn’t have an emergency, but she got a ticket and allegedly called 911 to yell about it.
Tabitha Tosti, 38, Solsberry, will be getting a summons to appear in Greene Superior Court on September 3 for an initial hearing on a charge of unlawful use of the 911 service. It’s a Class A misdemeanor.
Officer Kyle Robison of the Linton Police Department said Tosti was the driver of a gold Ford 500 passenger car that was stopped by LPD Officer Adam King in Linton at 6:57 p.m. last Friday, July 10.
During the stop, Officer King issued a citation to Tosti for driving with a suspended license.
Officer Robison reported that right after the stop, at 7:17 p.m., Tosti called 911. The call was answered by a dispatcher at the Linton Police Department. Tosti allegedly was upset about the citation and was yelling at the dispatcher.
Officer Robison said, “At no time during the course of the 911 call, did Tabitha Tosti request emergency services or attempt to obtain public safety assistance.”
