Water service restored in Jasonville; boil order in effect

Water service has been restored in Jasonville after a water line was struck and damaged Monday, Oct. 26, but residents remain under a boil water advisory until further notice.

According to the Jasonville Water Department, the damaged water line has been repaired and service has been restored.

However, in consultation with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, city officials have issued a precautionary boil water advisory because of a drinking water problem within the service area.

Residents are advised to bring all water used for drinking and cooking to a complete boil for three to five minutes before use.

The advisory will remain in effect until the water department announces that boiling water is no longer necessary.

The Jasonville Water Department said updates will be provided as necessary.

Residents with questions about the boil water advisory may contact the water department at 812-665-3285.
