Robert C. W. Getchell, 41, of Bicknell, and Misty Dawn Knight, 26, of Vincennes, were booked into the Greene County Jail early Sunday, December 2, by Officer Nick Yingling of the Linton Police Department.

LPD Officer Joseph Riley, the investigating officer, said a number of officers, including members of the Greene County Drug Task Force, were looking for Getchell and Knight late Saturday night. They found them, staying at an apartment in Linton.

Knight was wanted on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, but Getchell was wanted on one count of dealing in methamphetamine as a Level 3 felony and one count of dealing in methamphetamine as a Level 4 felony.

Officer Riley said during the process of taking the two suspects into custody, officers reported seeing items such as a glass smoking device with residue and a plastic bag containing a white crystal-like substance sitting out in plain view.

During a subsequent search, Riley said they also found a glass smoking device with residue that field-tested positive as methamphetamine, hollow tubes containing residue, another smoking pipe that contained residue, and another straw with residue that field-tested positive for meth.

When an officer spoke to the Linton woman who lived in the apartment, she allegedly said Getchell had delivered meth to her earlier in the day.

Riley said based on that statement and the fact they found Getchell had multiple grams of a white crystal-like substance which field-tested positive as methamphetamine in his possession, plus Knight, his girlfriend, had a set of digital scales with residue, Riley believed Getchell had committed the offense of dealing in methamphetamine.

Both Getchell and Knight were taken into custody then to jail, then transferred to Knox County.

This week, criminal cases were filed against them here in Greene County and on Tuesday, warrants were issued for their arrest.

It’s hard to tell when they might be transported back to Greene County to face charges here but when they are, Getchell will be charged with dealing in methamphetamine, a Level 5 felony, and possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, and Knight with possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony.
