State Road 43 to close near Solsberry for bridge replacement
/The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced an upcoming road closure on State Road 43 in Greene County to accommodate a bridge replacement project.
Beginning on or around Monday, Dec. 29, crews will close State Road 43 near Solsberry at Richland Creek, between County Road 550 North and County Road 700 North.
The closure is necessary to allow for reconstruction of the bridge in a new location. According to INDOT, relocating the bridge will correct a curve in the roadway at the current bridge site.
Work on the project is expected to continue through mid-August 2026, weather permitting.
The official detour will route traffic along State Road 54, State Road 445, State Road 45 and State Road 48. Local traffic will be permitted up to the point of closure.
INDOT is urging motorists to slow down, remain alert and use caution when traveling near work zones.
