Spring property tax deadline is May 12

The deadline to pay the spring installment of property taxes in Greene County is May 12.

Greene County Treasurer Samantha Mahan said residents have multiple options to pay their property taxes by the spring deadline of May 12 and the fall deadline of Nov. 10.

Several local banking institutions will accept spring payments if property owners provide a current tax coupon. Payments with coupons will be accepted at the following locations:

Payments may also be made at the Greene County Treasurer’s Office, located on the first floor of the Greene County Courthouse in Bloomfield. A drop box is available outside the courthouse and will accept payments until 4 p.m. on May 12. Payments placed in the drop box after 4 p.m. will be considered late.

Online payments can be made at co.greene.in.us, and phone payments can be made by calling 812-648-9166. Both options will close at 4 p.m. on May 12 and remain unavailable for two weeks.
