Solsberry man accused of child molesting posts bond after arrest early Tuesday
/A 22-year-old Solsberry man, accused of child molesting and sexual harassment of a teen victim over the past three years, was arrested early Tuesday then bonded out of the Greene County Jail by posting $3,000 cash.
Austin Christopher Feltner, 22, Solsberry, was booked in at 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday, October 16, on a warrant issued on September 11 after Greene County Prosecutor Jarrod Holtsclaw filed two counts of child molesting against Feltner, both Level 3 felonies, in Greene Circuit Court.
An investigation began late on August 26 when a family member of an alleged 15-year-old victim contacted the sheriff’s department to report a sexual assault on the victim, allegedly by Feltner.
Greene County Sheriff’s Detective Shawn Cullison and Deputy Davis Aerne were dispatched and took the initial report from the reporting party and the teen victim, who alleged that Feltner had been sexually harassing the victim for the past three years.
Det. Cullison then interviewed Feltner at the sheriff’s department and said Feltner first denied any sexual activities with the victim then later admitted to an earlier incident.
The teen and the relative were interviewed further by Greene County Department of Child Services Caseworker Camelia Seaman and Greene County Prosecutor’s Investigator Julie Criger. Det. Cullison reported that during that interview, the teen shared information and details about verbal and physical sexual advances and inappropriate behavior that had occurred numerous times over a period of three years, starting when the child was 12.
When the warrant was issued, Circuit Judge Erik Allen specified Feltner’s bond for each of the two counts will be $15,000 for a total of $30,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed.
Prior to his arrest, on October 1, Defense Attorney Joseph Lozano of Shapiro & Lozano in Bloomington filed his appearance to represent Feltner in this case.
Feltner is now scheduled to be in court on October 24 for an initial hearing.
