Shakamak State Park Fall Festival set for Saturday

Shakamak State Park will celebrate the fall season Saturday, Oct. 17, with a full day of family-friendly activities, including a scavenger hunt, tie-dye, campground trick-or-treating, and a campsite decorating contest.

The park's annual Fall Festival will begin at 7:30 a.m. with an all-you-can-eat breakfast in the campground. Breakfast costs $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-10. Children younger than 5 eat free.

A scavenger hunt will follow from 10 a.m. to noon, with participants meeting at the camp store.

From 1 to 3 p.m., visitors can participate in tie-dye activities at the camp store. Additional fees apply.

An electric bike raffle drawing will take place at 5 p.m. at camp host site No. 56.

The evening's festivities will include campground trick-or-treating from 6 to 8 p.m., followed by campsite decoration judging at 7:30 p.m.

For the safety of trick-or-treaters, the campground and overflow parking lot will be closed to all vehicle traffic from 5 to 10 p.m. No vehicles will be permitted to enter or exit during that time. Park officials said roads may reopen earlier if conditions allow.

Shuttle pickup and drop-off locations will be available at the Kickapoo parking lot and pool parking lot.
