Reynolds to plead guilty to theft of cash and tools from Linton home
/A Dugger man accused of stealing cash, pills and tools from a Linton home where he had been hired to do odd jobs has agreed to plead guilty.
Ryan Tyler Reynolds, 34, was arrested in July following an investigation by Det. Paul Clark of the Linton Police Department.
The theft allegedly occurred back in May. When the homeowner realized cash and other items were missing after Reynolds had been at her home to do some work, she called police to make a report.
Reynolds was charged with theft where the defendant has a prior conviction for theft, a Level 6 felony.
Last Thursday, Reynolds signed a negotiated plea agreement and is now expected to plead guilty and be sentenced to one and one-half years in the Greene County Jail with all but 180 days suspended. He’ll be given credit for time served and may serve his jail time on work release if he’s eligible. Then he’ll be on probation for one year. He may be required to pay restitution to the homeowner – to be determined by the court.
Greene County Community Corrections has been asked to complete an evaluation for alternative sentencing before Reynolds is sentenced at the end of August.
