Pipe replacement scheduled on SR 157 north of Bloomfield starting Monday, Jan.31

GREENE COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a full closure for a pipe replacement on State Road 157 north of Bloomfield.

Beginning on or around Monday, January 31, INDOT maintenance crews will begin an operation to replace a drainage culvert on S.R. 157 near the intersection of County Road 450 North, about four miles north of Bloomfield. Work will require complete excavation and replacement of a culvert pipe spanning all lanes of traffic.

Work is expected to last for about a week depending upon weather conditions. During the operation, the road will be completely closed around the clock. Local traffic will have access up to the point of closure, but all other traffic should use the official detour following S.R. 54 and U.S. 231.

INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
