Quintin Levi Resler, 20, Switz City, was arrested by Officer Janzen Franklin of the Linton Police Department on Monday, December 21.

Linton Police Officer John Agan, the investigating officer, and Officer Franklin were at the Walmart store in Linton around 7 p.m. Monday looking into another incident when Walmart’s Asset Protection Associate Manager alerted Officer Agan to a new incident. The manager said a physical altercation had just occurred between two customers in the store.

Officer Agan then talked to a woman who said she had come to the store with Quintin Resler and Resler’s girlfriend, that Resler had been drinking that day and that while they were all in the store, Resler had grabbed the girlfriend with both hands and shook her. She said both Resler and the girlfriend had left the store and gone outside.

Resler had left the store property but the girlfriend was located sitting in her vehicle in the parking lot. Officer Agan said she was very upset and trembling.

In a later interview, the girlfriend allegedly said while they were in the store, she told Resler to get away from her but he refused and grabbed her by her arms, squeezing them then shaking her back and forth multiple times. Her injuries were photographed – redness on both arms and a scratch on one arm. She also said the altercation continued out in the parking lot and that before he left, Resler had got on top of  her vehicle to prevent her from driving away.

The officers located Resler walking south on County Road 1000 West just south of Walmart. Resler allegedly acknowledged that he was intoxicated and had consumed multiple alcoholic beverages that day, including four or five shots of whiskey. He allegedly said when they started arguing in the store, he got upset when she told him to get away. He confessed he had grabbed her and shook her multiple times but said he did not hit her.

Resler also admitted that he wasn’t supposed to be in the store or on Walmart property as he had been trespassed from the store in September of 2019.

Resler was taken into custody and booked into the Greene County Jail at 7:55 p.m.

Resler’s bond was set at $2,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He did not post bond.

Resler has another case pending against him. Early in November, he was arrested and charged with felony resisting law enforcement with a vehicle and misdemeanor reckless driving and misdemeanor theft. In that case, he’s accused of failing to pay for $3.02 worth of gas at a Linton station, then when a deputy was looking for him, fleeing on a dirt bike. He was released on bond in that case but earlier today, a petition to revoke the bond was filed in Greene Superior Court.

In the latest case, Resler is facing preliminary charges of: Domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor, and criminal trespassing, a Class A misdemeanor.
