Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy James Carpenter responded to the crash around 7:03 a.m. on Tuesday, September 25, in the area of County Road 1000 West and CR 550 North.

Carpenter reported that Dorian Conklin, 24, Linton, was the driver of a black 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis that was northbound on CR 1000 West.

The driver said his tires on the passenger side of his car went off the roadway and he attempted to correct the vehicle but once back on the roadway, he pressed the brakes which caused the car to spin.

Carpenter said the car spun and then the rear passenger side of the car hit a tree before coming to a stop in the middle of CR 1000 West.

In a word to the wise, Carpenter noted, “If you are to run off the shoulder of the roadway, slow the car to a slow speed and then maneuver the vehicle back onto the roadway.”

In addition to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, Wright Township Fire and Skinner Towing also responded to assist on the scene.
