A Solsberry man who is on probation is accused of using the contents of a baggie affixed to his body instead of his own urine during a mandatory drug screen.

Bradley Dean Thompson, 44, of Solsberry, is facing a preliminary charge of interfering with a drug or alcohol screening test, a Class B misdemeanor.

Deputy Patrick Fulford of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, supervisor of the Courthouse Security Office, was called in to the Probation Department around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, to investigate an issue with a man on probation.

Deputy Fulford met with Probation Officer Patrick Hillenburg who said he had been conducting a urine drug screen of Thompson, who was asked to give a urine sample in the restroom of the probation department.

Deputy Fulford reported that in the restroom, next to the sink, he found a clear plastic tube that was connected to a clear plastic baggie.

Probation Officer Hillenburg alleged that Thompson had the tube wrapped around his waist and was using the contents of the baggie to simulate urinating into the specimen container.

Hillenburg told Fulford that the test was a mandatory drug screen that is a requirement of Thompson’s probation.

Deputy Fulford submitted information to the prosecutor’s office and last Friday, July 26, a case was filed against Thompson.

A summons has been sent to Thompson ordering him to appear in Greene Circuit Court in September for an initial hearing.
