A juvenile has accused an adult with physical battery after the juvenile refused to help clean house.

Jejuan Antwon Love, 35, Bloomington, was arrested by Deputy William C. Walker of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Sunday night, June 6.

Deputy Walker and GCSD Sgt. Jordan Allor responded at 6:19 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, to an apartment on I Street NE in Linton after a woman called the sheriff’s department and said a 13-year-old was at her apartment saying her uncle had choked and battered her.

Deputy Walker, the investigating officer, and Sgt. Allor were on the east side of the county when they were dispatched so Officer Alan Jackson of the Linton Police Department responded to assist.

Officer Jackson reported a juvenile victim had ran to a neighbor’s apartment screaming that the juvenile’s uncle had choked her and thrown her on the ground.

When the deputies arrived, they talked to the juvenile, the uncle, identified as Jejuan Love, and the neighbor.

Sgt. Allor talked to the alleged victim and reported the juvenile said she was eating and watching television while everyone else in the house was cleaning. She said Love turned the television off and she turned it back on. She said Love then unplugged the television and she plugged it back in then stood in front of it to watch it. She allegedly said Love then put his arm around her neck and she could barely breathe, then threw her to the floor. She then ran to a next-door apartment.

Deputy Walker talked to Love and reported Love said he and the other children in the house were cleaning but the alleged victim would not help clean the house. He said the juvenile was cooking food in the kitchen and refused to help clean and when he asked her to help clean, she sat down on the couch to eat and watch television. When he turned it off, she turned it back on. When he unplugged it, she plugged it back into the outlet and stood in front of it. He allegedly admitted he put his hands on the juvenile’s shoulders to get her to move away from the front of the television but she started kicking her legs, throwing her arms around and screaming. The juvenile then ran out the door screaming that he had choked her and thrown her on the floor.

When Officer Jackson talked to the neighbor, the neighbor said the juvenile had red marks on her neck and a scuff on a shin when the juvenile arrived at her apartment.

Love was taken into custody and transported to the Greene County Jail where he was booked in at 8:24 p.m. with bond set at $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He posted $400 and was later released.

During his initial hearing in Greene Superior Court on Monday, June 14, a protective order was served to Love ordering him to have no contact with the alleged victim.

He’s been charged with battery, a Class B misdemeanor.
