Linton Water Department to flush fire hydrants

The Linton Water Department will begin fire hydrant flushing on Wednesday, Nov. 12. Crews will conduct flushing operations Wednesday and Thursday night, starting at 10 p.m. and continuing until 6 a.m. the following mornings.

All flushing activities for this week are expected to be finished by 6 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14. Officials said one additional evening of flushing may be needed next week to complete the system, and customers will be notified once that schedule is determined.

During the process, residents may notice temporary water discoloration. The department advises customers to avoid washing white or light-colored laundry during the listed hours, as discolored water can cause staining.
