Linton Water Department to begin overnight hydrant flushing April 12

The Linton Water Department will begin flushing fire hydrants across the city starting the evening of Sunday, April 12.

According to the department, the flushing process will take approximately four nights to complete and will occur nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., with all work expected to be finished by Thursday morning, April 16.

Officials said customers may notice temporary discoloration of water during the flushing process.

Residents are advised to limit clothes washing during overnight hours, as discolored water may cause staining in white or light-colored fabrics.

For additional information, residents may contact the utility office at 812-847-4971.
