When a Linton man, accused of threatening harm to family members, appeared in court this week, he was charged with intimidation.

Bradley J. Bohnert, 44, of Linton, was arrested early Friday, May 17, by Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Zachary Goad.

Deputy Goad responded to a residence on County Road 150 North around 3 a.m. that day after someone called Linton dispatch and said Bohnert had threatened to kill someone.

GCSD Deputy Davis Aerne also responded along with Officer Andrew Duguay of the Jasonville Police Department and ISP Trooper Wagner.

When they arrived, Bohnert was in the driveway near a garage. He complied when he was ordered to the ground and detained for safety.

After talking to other family members at the residence and Bohnert, officers learned there had been an earlier disagreement and Bohnert had left the residence.

Bohnert said he then realized he needed some of his belongings. He called and asked family members to set some clothes on the front porch for him but when he got there, his belongings had not been set out. He said someone offered to let him inside to grab some things and that no threats were made.

But other family members told different stories and said Bohnert had returned to get his belongings but was told police would be called and one said Bohnert had then threatened to bust someone’s head. One said he threatened to kill them and that’s when police were called.

Bohnert was transported to the Greene County Jail where he was booked in at 4:46 a.m. with bond set at $2,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed.

This Wednesday, May 22, when he appeared in Greene Superior Court for an initial hearing, he was charged with intimidation, a Class A misdemeanor, and was issued a no-contact order.
