Jasonville community to host free back-to-school bash Aug. 1

Families in the Metropolitan School District of Shakamak are invited to kick off the new school year at a free Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 1.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will offer students a variety of free back-to-school essentials and family-friendly activities. It will take place on Main Street next to Pizza Villa II.

Students attending the event can receive free backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, hair tinsel and more, while supplies last. Organizers will also provide free hot dogs and cookies and will have games and activities for children throughout the day.

Community organizers are encouraging local businesses and individuals to get involved by donating school supplies, monetary contributions or hosting a booth during the event.

The Back-to-School Bash is designed to help Shakamak students start the school year prepared while bringing the community together for an afternoon of fun and support.
