Hola Hermosa to celebrate grand opening in Lyons

A new salon focused on quality services and community connection is opening its doors in Lyons this weekend.

Hola Hermosa, located at 165 N. Jefferson St. in Lyons, will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 7.

The salon is owned by Rosa Moreno, who said the idea for the business grew from an unexpected place — time spent doing nails with her daughter.

“Doing nails began as something fun I would do with my little girl, but it quickly turned into a true passion,” Moreno said. “Eventually it became a dream of opening a salon where other professionals could grow alongside me.”

The salon is located in a building along the highway that once housed a daycare center. Moreno said the building has undergone extensive renovations since she took over the space.

“We’ve added walls, taken walls down, cut into parts of the building, and painted just about every inch of the space,” Moreno said.

The work was driven by her vision of creating something meaningful for the community.

“Small towns like ours need more businesses and places for people to gather, support each other and grow together,” Moreno said. “After a lot of hard work and love put into it, we’re finally excited to open our doors and share Hola Hermosa with the community.”

Hola Hermosa offers a variety of beauty services for clients, including nail care and hair services, with plans for additional offerings in the future.

Nail services range from nail enhancements and basic manicures to luxury spa pedicures. The salon also offers haircuts, scalp massages and color services such as highlights through its team of cosmetologists.

Moreno said the salon also features an esthetician suite that will allow for expanded beauty services in the future.

Moreno said one of her goals is to ensure Greene County residents have access to high-quality nail services locally.

“For many years, if I wanted to get my nails done, it meant driving outside of Greene County to places like Terre Haute or Bloomington,” Moreno said. “Even then, there were times I left feeling disappointed or simply not as welcomed as I had hoped.”

Those experiences helped shape her vision for the salon.

“My goal is to bring that excitement and comfort of getting your nails done right here in Greene County,” Moreno said. “I’m passionate about what I do, and the best part of my work is seeing my clients leave happy, confident and smiling.”
