Greene County families are invited to Humphreys Park Tuesday evening for National Night Out, an annual event bringing together residents, law enforcement and community organizations for an evening of activities and fellowship.

Greene County National Night Out will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Humphreys Park in Linton. The event is hosted by the Greene County Alliance and Linton Police Department as part of a nationwide initiative designed to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

The family-friendly event will feature local law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS personnel and community organizations, giving residents an opportunity to meet and interact with local first responders in a relaxed setting.

Families can also enjoy children's activities, games, giveaways, food and refreshments throughout the evening. Community organizations will have resource tables available to share information about programs and services offered throughout Greene County.

National Night Out is designed to promote community partnerships and positive relationships between residents and public safety agencies while bringing neighbors together.

The event runs from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Humphreys Park and is open to the community.
