A Sullivan woman accused of operating a vehicle while intoxicated in Linton in mid-December is being summoned to appear in court for an initial hearing in February.

Reba Robinson, 70, Sullivan, is facing preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor, and operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to at least .08 but less than .15, a Class C misdemeanor.

Robinson was the driver of a burgundy Chrysler 200 that was stopped by Linton police officers after the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department requested a welfare check on the driver of the Chrysler that was reported to be headed toward Linton on Monday, December 14.

LPD Officer Janzen Franklin, the lead investigator, said Officer Nick Yingling located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on South Main Street near F Street in Linton. Officer Franklin and Officer John Agan also responded to the scene of the stop.

Robinson appeared to be upset, officers said they detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage and said Robinson exhibited other signs of intoxication. She allegedly admitted she had consumed a variety of alcoholic beverages.

Robinson failed standard field sobriety tests and was transported to the police department where she again failed standard field sobriety tests then tested at .096 on a certified chemical breath test.

Robinson was not arrested at the time but was transported to Greene County General Hospital for treatment.

A criminal case was recently filed against her in Greene Superior Court with a summons issued ordering her to appear in court for an initial hearing on February 11.
