Robert Adam Slough, 34, Worthington, was arrested by Worthington Town Marshal Jim O’Malley yesterday, Thursday, April 29, following a crash in downtown Worthington.

The crash, which occurred around 11:35 a.m. Thursday morning, involved one vehicle. No injuries were reported.

Slough was identified as the driver of the one vehicle, a red 2009 Chevrolet HHR.

O’Malley reported Slough’s vehicle left the roadway at the intersection of Commercial and Main streets in downtown Worthington and hit a large decorative light and a stop sign. The vehicle sustained significant damage.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Bough Towing and photographs were taken at their secure facility of numerous tools and two firearms that were located inside the vehicle.

O’Malley said when he arrived, the driver’s side door was open and there was a small glass bottle beneath the operator’s seat but in plain view. The bottle contained a plastic bag with an off-white crystal substance that field-tested positive as methamphetamine.

When Slough was asked if the methamphetamine belonged to him, he allegedly said, “I’m the only one in the car.” He allegedly said he last used meth last weekend but when asked if he would consent to a blood draw, he asked for an attorney.

Slough was taken into custody and transported to the Greene County Jail where he was booked in at 1:27 p.m. Slough is being held without bond pending his appearance in court for an initial hearing on a preliminary charge of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony. A criminal case has been filed but the date for his hearing is not yet known.
