Mutual aid response was requested from Monroe Fire Protection District Station 39 and the Beech Creek Fire Department in Greene County. The Greene County Ambulance Service also responded to assist.
Firefighters were on the scene within minutes and upon arrival, they reported a working structure fire with heavy fire coming from the middle of the residence.
The residents told firefighters everyone was out of the residence but their pets were still inside. No injuries were reported, but the pets did not survive.
After spending three-four hours on the scene, Center-Jackson reported the cause of the fire was believed to be a wood stove, and that the family lost most of their personal belongings.
