CASA silent auction scheduled for Friday

A silent auction set for Friday offers an opportunity to bid on items donated by local businesses and individuals while supporting a good cause. 

Greene County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is hosting its annual open house and silent auction from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Greene County Magistrate Court on the first floor of the courthouse. Bloomfield Elementary School second graders will sing at 9:30 a.m. Refreshments will be served during the silent auction.

This year, there are approximately 35 themed gift baskets – ranging from home decor, men's items, and kids items – as well as items such as a HiLift Jack, Holiday World tickets, and gift certificates will be available for bid. 

“Funds raised each year are used to buy the children Christmas. Additional funds are used to purchase wants for the children, such as letter jackets, which allows them to get things that are not supplied by the welfare system,” said CASA Director Amber Spicer.
