BPD reports attempted abduction in Bloomfield

The Bloomfield Police Department is reporting an attempted abduction occurred in Bloomfield today, Friday, August 23. In response to insure safety of students and staff, Bloomfield School was notified and went on lockdown.

Information released by BPD:

BPD has received a report of an attempted abduction. A 22 year old female reports that a older white male grabbed her arm after she approached his vehicle and attempted to get her to go with him in the area between Seminary St. & Lewis St. on Spring St. Female did get away and notified authorities.

If anyone has video in the stated area that could assist in this investigation please contact BPD at dispatch 812-384-4411 opt. 1 and request to speak with a Bloomfield officer.

Suspect vehicle is described as a green Kia Soul or Scion Xb

As a precaution, Bloomfield School Corporation SRO was notified of the reported abduction.
