A Bloomfield man accused of two felony counts of dealing methamphetamine has not posted bond and has been in jail since he was arrested on May 15. Late last week, the judge slightly reduced the amount of his bond, but now a different case has been filed against him in another county.

Jeffrey Ray Adams, 46, was arrested as a result of an ongoing investigation by the Greene County Drug Task Force.

His bond was initially set at $25,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed.

His public defender filed a motion to reduce his bond and a hearing was scheduled in late June.

That hearing was conducted last week in Greene Circuit Court, evidence was presented, but no decision made - the judge took the motion under advisement.

Later, Judge Erik Allen ordered his bond be reduced by just $5,000. It’s now $20,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed.

However, on June 15, another case involving drugs was filed against Adams in Hendricks County.

The preliminary charge there is possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony. In this case, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Adams and according to court records, the bond is $500 cash.

As of early Thursday, Adams remained in the Greene County Jail and the Greene County case is currently scheduled to go to trial in early October.
