Jeff Scott Roll, 46, Bloomfield, was arrested by Sgt. Bobby Pierce of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department early Monday, December 28.

Sgt. Bobby Pierce and Deputy Davis Aerne were dispatched to do a welfare check on a woman at a rural Bloomfield residence after someone requested the check because they suspected her ex-boyfriend, Jeff Roll, was inside the woman’s residence and was causing issues. Deputy Marshal Wayman JR Blazier of the Bloomfield Police Department also responded to assist.

When the officers arrived, they heard loud yelling from inside the residence and when Sgt. Pierce approached the main door, he could see Roll standing over the woman while yelling violently in her face as she cowered.

Roll answered the door but did not welcome the officers in. However, Sgt. Pierce told him they were entering to check on the woman.

Officers learned Roll had not lived at the residence for months and was allegedly jealous because the woman was seeing a new boyfriend. Although Roll said no physical altercation had occurred, the woman said he had pinned her down and caused marks and bruises during an altercation – photographs were taken.

She also said when she tried to call 911, he grabbed her cell phone and threw it to the ground, cracking the screen, and she explained Roll had been abusive in the past and had, at one time or another, kicked in a door, broken windows out of her house, broke multiple windshields on her vehicles and tore a door off one vehicle.

Roll was taken into custody and booked into the Greene County Jail where his bond was set at $1,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He has since posted $100 bond and been released.

A criminal was filed against Roll earlier today. When he appears in Greene Superior Court for an initial hearing, he will be facing charges of domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor, and interference with the reporting of a crime, a Class A misdemeanor.
