William Timothy “Tim” McCallum

William Timothy “Tim” McCallum, age 73, of Westphalia, left us gently at 3:21 PM EST, Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, surrounded by family and the love that defined his life. Born February 16, 1952, in Vincennes, Indiana, the son of William "Bill" H. McCallum and Mary Caroline (Haaff) McCallum.

Tim’s legacy began at North Knox High School, where he played football, track, and wrestling teams. After his 1970 high school graduation, his passion for football led to a scholarship at Eastern Montana College (now Montana State), but love for his hometown and high school sweetheart, Debbie Workman, brought him back to Knox County. He and Debbie married on June 3, 1972, beginning a 53-year partnership full of encouragement, laughter, and teamwork.

Tim retired after dedicating 35 years to Hamilton Glass/Gemtron. He enjoyed coaching children's summer softball and baseball teams.

He enjoyed swapping stories at the Elnora Outdoor Club and Knox County Coon Hunters Club. He enjoyed trade shows, rides on the 4-wheeler, and working in his garden. He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Westphalia.

Tim will be deeply missed by his wife, Debbie; his children, Jennifer (Kelly) Shaw and Jeff (Abby) McCallum; his grandchildren, Carter (fiance'-Carmina) Shaw, Shelby Shaw, Skyler McCallum, and Bailey McCallum; great-grandsons Brantley and Benson McCallum; sister-in-law, Kay Sisk; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Izzy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mary; his beloved sister, Deborah “Debbie” Buescher; and sister-in-law, Connie Lewis.

A funeral service to celebrate Tim’s life will be held at Salem United Church of Christ in Westphalia at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, officiated by Pastor Rhonda Haynes. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM, and Wednesday from 10:00 AM until service time.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Salem United Church of Christ or the Elnora Outdoor Club. Envelopes will be available at the church.

Arrangements are in care of Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton of Walton Funeral Service.
