William Leon Johnson, 81, of Bloomington, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at University Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born August 25, 1943 in Bloomington, he was the son of Harry Russell and Geneva Mae (Branstetter) Johnson. He married Marilyn Sue Shields on July 15, 1984. She passed away just hours prior to William on the same day.

William worked as a printing press operator for Indiana University and attended the Solsberry Methodist Church.

Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Darcy Jolee Johnson of Bloomington; two sons, Bradley Scott Johnson of Owensburg and Brett Johnson of Solsberry; one brother, Robert Johnson; his grandchildren, Samuel Alan Funkhouser, Harry Russell Funkhouser, Zackery Tyler Johnson, Corey Johnson, Kendrick Johnson, Breanna Johnson, Kayla Johnson, Kasey Johnson and Jesse Johnson; ten great grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 am on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Solsberry Cemetery.

Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
