William K. Hale
/William K. Hale, age 85, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 3:30 am on Saturday, June 20, 2020, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born in Linton, IN on March 22, 1935, the son of Lloyd Hale & Mildred (Chrysler) Hale.
He was a 1954 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School then attended Rose Poly in Terre Haute before going to work for General Electric in Fort Wayne. He worked for several retail stores over the years including Paint-n-Paper Place (Porter Paint's); was a former owner of Gambles Hardware and retired from Park-View Motors. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, playing solitaire and working with electronics.
William was a member of the United Methodist Church in Linton, The Shriners, Scottish Rite, Elks Lodge #866 and Rotary.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Josephine (Davis) Hale of Linton; daughters, Brenda (Gary Bruner) Denny of Danville, IN and Linda (Larry) Morton of Jasonville; sons, John (Jennifer) Hale of Linton and William (Angie) Hale, Jr. of Linton; grandchildren, Amy (John) O'Keefe, Bryan Denny, Austin Hale, Gabby (Austin) Harrison, Alison Smith, Jaime Moore, Taylor Grove and Jenna Grove and seven great grandchildren.
William is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Helen Stilwell.
Private services will be observed by the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.
