Wendell W. Reintjes, 83, of Linton, Indiana, passed from his life, with his loving family by his side, on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at his home. He was born on October 16, 1940   in Linton, Indiana to Wadies Theodore and Maude Myrtle (Hill) Reintjes. Wendell was married to Charlene L. (Havens) Reintjes from April 29, 2003 until her passing on June 23, 2015. He then married Sylvia R. (Sisk Stewart) Reintjes on April 30, 2023.

Wendell was a member of the Dugger First Christian Church, Dugger Masonic Lodge #721 F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute; Greene Co. Shrine Club and UMWA Dist. #11. Wendell was a coal miner at Peabody Coal Co., retiring in 2000 with 38 ½ years of service.

Family left to cherish the memories of Wendell include: his wife, Sylvia Reintjes; son, Pat (Penny) Stone; daughter, Kari Stewart; step-sons, Charles Fisher and Terry Stewart; step-daughters, Crystal (Terry) Land, Renee’ (Opie) Wall and Angie Sherrill; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and two sisters, Kathyleen Klein and Linda Goodman.

Wendell was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Charlene Reintjes; brothers, Jim, Marvin, Gilbert and Carl Reintjes; sisters, Barbara Camden, Junetta and Annalee Reintjes.

A Masonic Memorial Service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton. Funeral services to honor the life of Wendell will immediately follow with Jerry Carmichael officiating. Wendell will be laid to rest in Dugger Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 12:00 Noon until the time of service at 2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
