Wanda Lee (Hedgespeth) Groomer

Wanda Lee (Hedgespeth) Groomer, 88, of Bloomfield, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Born March 31, 1932 in Modesto, California she was the daughter of Homer and Lucy (Coffey) Hedgespeth.

Wanda worked at RCA, babysat, which she loved and was a homemaker. She was a 72 year member of Pleasant Ridge Church. She was a true prayer warrior and loved going to Church. She would always pray and trust Jesus to meet all our needs. She loved her family and friends so much and lived life to the fullest. A lot of friends could always find her at “Cracker Barrel” which was her favorite place to eat, so many sweet wonderful memories to treasure.

Surviving relatives include: her children, Jimmie (Donna) Groomer, Debbie (Garry “Spec”) Jackson, Susie (Bruce) Hayse and Johnie (Robin) Groomer; her companion, Chuck Geene; one brother, Donnie (Faye) Hedgespeth; grandchildren, LaDonna (Keith) VanDeventer, Brock (Tiffany) Groomer, Farrah (Mike) Brown, Leslie (Travis) Pope, Shaun (Tanya) Hayse, Dustin (Alyson) Hayse, Landon (Samantha) Groomer and Morgan (Cory) Love; great grandchildren, Paul VanDeventer, Luke VanDeventer, Londyn Frye, Cohen Frye, Oakley Groomer, Boston Groomer, Berkley Groomer, Braylee Brown, Arabella Brown, Gage Pope, Greyson Pope, Kasey Hunt, Brooklyn Hayse, Viviyn Hayse, Arie Hayse, Brixton Groomer and Sophy Groomer.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Kenneth Groomer on December 24, 2007, two brothers, Johnsey (Joyce) Hedgespeth and Charles (Velva) Hedgespeth; two sisters, Marie (Carl) Martindale and Clara (Jay) Williams, and a granddaughter, Hollie Jewel Hayse.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Solsberry cemetery, with Pastor Allen Jackson and Pastor Eugene Helms officiating. Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.

Due to State mandate, social gatherings will be limited to 50 people; masks and social distancing are required.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Old Time Apostolic Church or Word of Life Fellowship Church.
