Walter Wayne Burcham

Walter Wayne Burcham, Bloomfield, age 92, died December 22, 2018. He was born June 6, 1926 near Park, Indiana, to Wayne and Algia (Acton) Burcham.

He was a 1944 Solsberry High School graduate. Walter Wayne married Mary Katherine Harp on April 24, 1953. Walter and Mary owned a small farm in rural Bloomfield, IN, that was known as the Blue Barn Farm. He was an elder of the Walnut Grove Churches of God from 1953 through 2017. Walter served in the US Army from 1944-1946 stationed in the Philippines. He retired from the Crane Army Ammunition Activity as a shop planner, having served from 1948-1986.

Along with his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Fayetta Coulter, son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Beth Burcham, grandchildren Grant (Alisha) Burcham, Abigail (Chance Hurt) Burcham, William (Sara Meyer) Coulter, Sara (Clint) McElroy, great grandchildren Eleanor and Ruby McElroy and Henry Burcham-Hurt, three sisters Mary Fuller, Martha Veatch, Elizabeth Henderson, two brothers Joe and Martin Burcham, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held Wednesday December 26, 4-8 PM and 1 hour prior to the 11 AM funeral service Thursday December 27 at the Jenkins and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Walnut Grove Cemetery. Reverend Jeff Rockey and Pastor Ron Sutherlin will officiate.

Walter was a lifelong farmer, adored his family, gentleman and child of God. He will be greatly missed by many.
